P&B Music AR Show

Context:
Project developed at Wildbytes for the client Pull&Bear

Technologies:
Augmented Reality, Visual Positioning System, Google Geospatial API, Unity, C#

Description:
This project consisted in creating an Augmented Reality Music Show in front of the recently opened Pull&Bear store, in downtown Madrid, Spain. The product resulted in an app that, when in front of the building, displayed a virtual concert starring the Spanish pop star Sen Senra. Surrounded by digital effects and 3D content, the singer performed through the users' phone screens. Moreover, the show was developed in a way where the virtual objects reacted to the physical space and blended with the existing buildings. In doing so, the gap between the digital world and the real world was narrowed, enhancing the immersive feeling. Overall, the conjunction between technology and creativity created an impressive musical and visual experience.
This was one of my first projects as a Creative Technologist at Wildbytes. Not only that, but I became a key member of the team by leading the technical area of it. My role started with testing the possible technologies to use. The idea was to use a Visual Positioning System to understand where the user was and anchor the AR content to a certain location. At that point, the Google Geospatial API was recently launched and there were few examples or previous cases to understand its capabilities. We decided to take the chance and go with it. During its development, I coordinated the developers team, while coding myself. At the same time, I worked hand in hand with the creative and 3D team to implement their designs and work in the app. The tight schedule of the project and its complexity made it quite a challenge, but for its result, it was totally worth it.

Do not miss the video case of the music show!
